Should I Continue Or Stop Taking It Thyronorm 25mcg For Three Months ?
Question: Hi, I was diagnosed subclinical hypothyroidism and I am trying to conceive. My TSH was 4.76 but my T3, T4 and antibody serum reports were normal. Doctor prescribed me Thyronorm 25mcg for three months since I want to get pregnant, if not he recommended not to start medicine since it is mildly elevated. I started medicines took 4 months. My Reports are normal. TSH is 1.97. Should I continue or stop taking it? please suggest.
Brief Answer:
CONTINUE TAKING THE MEDICATION
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have read your query and understood your concern
The TSH level is normal after four months of taking thyronorm 25 mcg ,which means the thyroid level is maintained because of the medication .As you are trying to conceive I would recommend you to continue the medication and check your thyroid levels every 3 months.
