Should I Need To Undergo Sigmoidoscopy ?
I consulted a Gastroenterologist in my town and he gave me few test.
1. Sigmoidoscopy
2. Biopsy
So my question are:
1. Were these test really required(Like it was painful and should be done serious cases).
2. Would like to know about the reports, if they are normal and if treatment given is correct.
Yes, required, treatment as per guidelines.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and attachment of reports and prescription.
Specific answers to your specific question.:
1>Yes, required. I can understand the discomfort or pain with sigmoidoscopy. Getting such tests done helps the most as there is an actual visualization, allows biopsy to be taken, gives best possible diagnosis. Like the report mentions about multiple aphthous ulcers, erythema and edema.
2> Treatment is standard and correct. Histopathology report also seen which is s/o infective etiology and you are already been given the proper treatment.
Well, what was the cause of this? Food outside? anything unusual you consumed before starting of symptoms?
Is this recurrent?
Do you get small or large ulcers in mouth?
Also get the routine tests of blood, urine and stool. Stool should ideally be tested for 3 consecutive days.
What were the symptoms to start with - the progression of symptoms and disease - and problems at present.
I hope this answers your queries and helps you. Feel free to give feedback and ask for any further relevant queries.

I usually don't eat outside and this is the first time I have faced this.
I think from last 1 month before this happened, I had started a habit of taking home made milk banana shake with almond and figs soaked. I don't remember anything unusual than this.
I did not get any ulcer in my mouth.
At the beginning, I started going toilet 4-5 times in a day for 5-6 day, Then gradually I started getting mild stomach pain. I tried pet safa(churan), thinking this will clear digestion for 2-3 days, but it did not help and then I consulted dr in my town.
Its been 5 days I am talking the medicine, but I don't see any effective improvement at all. I am still going washroom for 3-4 times a day and still my digestion is not proper and there is a mild pain in stomach also.
As detailed

Thanks for your appreciation.
The first thing I noticed that you have posted the reply at around 1:15 am - late sleeping like me it seems.
Well. Figs, almonds and such fry fruits and nuts are known notorious in some people. I have stopped such things in many patients and helped them a lot. Hence consume nothing like these again. The side effects may take a few days to few weeks for wash-out as well as the healing of intestines takes some time.
I usually advise to stop milk and milk products, all fruits till intestines show complete healing.
These things either instigated the changes or enhanced the intestinal problems.
Take soft and bland diet for a week. Revert back to the fresh home made foods that you know suits the best.
Identify the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance the problems.
Add multivitamins with mineral, trace elements and lycopene containing capsules. These help in healing.
I think your Doctor has already added pre and probiotics.
Please check for CBC, CRP, blood sugar, thyroid functions and liver functions; stool tests for 3 consecutive days. Old wisdom helps sometimes that the younger generation of Doctors may not believe in.
Ultrasound of abdomen helps in many ways in proper diagnosis..
