Brief Answer:
Use knee support and ice packs along with analgesics.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As you have described the diagnosis as bursitis- then one has to be certain if it is infective or degenerative bursitis. You are consulting ortho surgeon tomorrow, and that will sort it out.
Medial side knee pain is generally due to osteoarthritis/medial collateral ligament sprain or injury.
At present, I would suggest Local Ice packs and elastic knee support along with Percocet. You can use any locally available analgesic cream also.
If the x-rays are normal then probably you may need MRI of the knee to arrive it at a diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query.
