Should I Take Daughter Developed A Cough One Week Ago To The Hospital?

Question: Hi. My daughter developed a cough one week ago (last Friday) without any other symptoms. I gave her a Covid test on Sunday and again on Tuesday and both were negative. I ended up taking her to a doctor who said it was a virus that would clear up on its own. Yesterday afternoon she was on her iPad and started complaining of neck pain on the right side. She pointed to where it hurts and it seems to be her levator scapulae on her right side only. She has been hiding her neck slightly tilted. She has been able to move it in all directions, although she says it hurts when she flexes it to the side opposite the stiffness. She says it’s about a 3 out ot 10 pain wise. Should I take her to the hospital? Does this sound like meningitis?
Brief Answer:
Probably a muscle pain
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
The symptoms seem to be related to myalgia.
It is a muscular pain, very common in viral infections.
I recommend to use a painkiller such as Tylenol.
I also recommend using warm compresses for local application.
In case that she has high temperature, confusion or vomiting, you should go at the emergency room for further evaluation.
Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
