Should I Wait For At Least 2 Months Before I

Posted on Thu, 30 Apr 2020
Question: Should I wait for at least 2 months before i see a neurologist for follow up or I should just concentrate on my anxiety?

Again so this looks like a combination of TMJ and anxiety and not even close to MND?

They did not do my bulbar muscles (emg), am I still clear of ALS?

Brief Answer:
You can wait for 2 months.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

You can wait for two months to see a neurologist.

Yes, it looks like TMJ and anxiety and not like MND.

As your symptoms are not suggestive of bulbar MND, you are clear of ALS, even though EMG of bulbar muscles was not done.

So not even a hint of ALS in this right?

Can this be due to MS or mysthenia gravis as I read symptoms are more aligned with them than ALS?

Brief Answer:
The symptoms are not suggestive of MS or myasthenia.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back with more information.

There is no hint of LAS.

Symptoms are not suggestive of MS or myasthenia gravis.

I saw the video of tongue, soft palate and pharyngeal muscles. Tongue looks normal and there is no wasting. Sounds produced are normal, there is no dysarthria. Movements of soft palate and uvula are also normal.

1.) So what could be causing the pressure/stiffness in soft palate, cheeks region?

2.) Can TMJ affect speech due to the facial pressure?

3.) Can TMJ cause tongue biting or is it anxiety?
