Question: I am supposed to take Misoprostol 200 mcg one tablet tonight and one in the morning for a gyn procedure tomorrow afternoon. I have been reading the Misoprostol warnings and it says that you should tell your doctor about intestinal problems. I am currently having intestinal pain and have a history of diverticulitis. I am now very worried about taking the Misoprostol and it increasing my abdominal pain.

Hello,

Misoprostol can increase abdominal cramps, diarrhea and nausea. However, such a short course of misoprostol will not cause any major intestinal problems. There is nothing to be worried.
You can safely take the misoprostol as scheduled.
You can also take Advil 400 mg every 6 hours for pain. Using a heating pad San also give relief.
