Should Ofloxacin Be Given For Loose Motions In An Infant?

Question: my daughter is 17 months old fever comes back every after 5days or 10days .sleeps are disturb.some times motion are loose.5ml albendazole was given yesturday.done stool test today n found out mucus present..doctor prescribe ofloxacin oral solution.should i start giving her this medicine..

Personally I. Will wait and nor give any antibiotic.



If stool consistency is OK ,wait.


Infective diarrhoea rarely requires such antibiotic.


For fever look/for other causes like urinary infection.
