Should I Continue Estrogen For IVF Inspite Of Having Stroke And Headache?
Question: Take estrogen and cronin(progestrone vaginally ) for IVF . I hit my head on a pole , dis not lose conscious but it really hurt , swelled .. Painful corner top of head over eye. .. I went to ER on 5/5 ct scan normal that was one day after head injury becauae i was a little lightheaded and nausea. Went to see neurogoloist and he said all was fine. About a few days later I was just sitting down and saw a flash of light corner of eye for about a minute then a quick blurry vision then normal. Its about 21/2 weeks alter saw another neuro just to be safe cause i have migraine symptoms for 2 days i aaw him today and he said something quickly that has now making me feel very nervous . He said all is fine but told him about the flash and he said well if you got the flash and on estrogen usually i would say stop because it can be stroke? But i need to take estrogen for ivf procedure. He says dont worry inshould be fine. I am now home relaxing have not had any auroas but migraine possibly from horomones . What is this stroke that maybe be possible? Should i be innthe hospital ? So confused . Is there something serious ?

1) taking 8mg of estrace daily for 5 weeks and cronoin 8% 2day vaginally
2) had embryo transfer last thursday so its 8 days post transfer
No other meds .. Waiting to test blood on tueday for pregnancy. I know the risk os stroke with estrogen also very rare .. But scary. I have no medical history . 128 pounds 5'6 inches tall , getting headaches like i used 6 years ago before i went into early mrnopause. I suffered migraines but now they are back. Going for mri brain tonorrow

Hi
I don't see any problem. Continue estrogen till beta hCG results. The chances of stroke are not very high.
If beta hCG is negative then you stop estrogen.
