Should I Continue Throxine Inspite Of Altered TSH Level?

default
Posted on Mon, 5 May 2014
Question: I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 2 months before my pregnancy in Feb 2012. I have been having thyronorm 25 to 100 from then till XXXXXXX 2013. I stopped taking it after that. I recently checked my TSH level and it comes to 4.6. As per that report, the acceptable range is 1.x to 6.x. But my understanding was that ideal TSH should be around 2.5 range. Is there something I should worry about? Free t3 and t4 also seemed to be in range.

Brief Answer: nothing to worry if no symptoms Detailed Answer: Dear XXXXX, hi! pregnancy cut off are a little tight. so after delivery now TSH 4.6 is acceptable if you are having no symptoms. as you must already be aware of the symptoms of hypothyroidism so let me know if you have any. else you may not take thyroxine. regards!
