HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The strength of the bone is primarily influenced by the amount of calcium and vitamin D.
The matrix of bone is composed mainly of calcium, the vitamin D helps the calcium to be absorbed.

An adult male your husband's age should use at least 1000 mg of calcium daily and 600 mg of vitamin D daily.
The calcium can be obtained from natural sources and supplements. The natural sources would be milk, cheese, yogurt, fortified breakfast cereal, sardines, salmon, spinach, broccoli. He can use supplements along with these.

Vitamin D is obtained mainly from appropriate sun exposure, at least 5 to 10 mins a day, supplements and some foods (not present in high quantities in food). It is present in small quantities in tuna, salmon, cheese, egg yolk.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
