Question: Sir,
Almost 25 days ago my son cought in hold of dengue fever . Normally he is having platelets count in blood as 3.5 L per microliter. Initially in 4-5 days of fever, it came down to 1.5L. But with the help of papaya juice and other fruit juices and good diet, it started rising and went up to 2.57L. Then it started falling again with same food routine and in a time period of one week or 10 days it came down to 1.87 L level.
Can you please explain this with some good advices.

Brief Answer:
Maintain adequate hydration

Detailed Answer:
Hello there,

I can certainly understand your concern.

I have worked through your attached question in detail.

Platelet count varies during the course of illness.

It rises and falls due to variations in plasma volume.

Nothing to worry about.

Just maintain adequate hydration.

Follow the instructions given by your physician.
