Question: Sir, I've completed 30 days Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PeP) tablet course without missing a day. So, how much has PeP extended the window period of detection of the virus? How many days should I wait to take a rt-pcr test for HIV?

Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome To Ask A Doctor Service
I have gone through your question, I understand your concern.
Yes, window period is increased after post exposure prophylaxis, by around 28 days.
So you should get hiv test dome after atleast 28 daus from last dose of post exposure prophylaxis.
And again get repeat hiv test done at 90 days( from first hiv exposure), to confirm negative report.
I hope your query is clear now.
Thanks and regards
