It should improve upon starting solid food...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Infants of this age especially when they are still breast feeding may have infrequent stools. They can go without passing stools for days and upto 2 weeks. As long as the abdomen is soft and not tense / distended, there is unlikely a serious problem.
It's good to know his thyroid status is normal. If you aren't drinking plenty of fluids, sometimes in view of dehydration, the milk secreted may be more viscous leading to constipation. I will suggest you drink plenty of fluids and see if the condition improves.
Very soon, he will be weaned off breast feeding and solid diet would be started. The problem should get better upon starting solid food. You might discuss with the pediatrician about weaning food and when to start it. Some pediatrician do suggest solid food after 4 months incase of dire needs.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
