Small White Spot On Stomach, Neck, Eye Area, Vitiligo, Burns. Suggest.
Question: I had a small white Spot on my stomach around 1 year back. It is still the same.
I now have a similar spot on my neck. There is a something started around my eyes too. This makes me worried. I met a dermatologist but he said it is vitiligo and said he is not an expert in it and suggested me to XXXXXXX an expert.
Having said this, at this point in time i'm unsure what steps i should be taking. My observations is that i get a slight burning sensation before the skin turns white but i'm not sure about it though.. This slight burning sensations has started on my hands and face ( no other issues on it yet though ) , i'm worried if vitiligo is spreading.
Please help and suggest the next steps. Please share your contact # if i need to contact you
What should i do to stop spreading any further ?

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for your query.
As your dermatologist has told you it appears to be vitiligo.
If untreated it can spread to rest of the body slowly.
Vitiligo is pigmentary disorder in which melanocytes die as a result of multiple causes.
The condition is treatable. Visit a dermatologist who can suggest you proper treatment.
Treatment options are Oral n topical steroids, Tacrolimus , Phototherapy and photochemotherapy, surgery .
Phototherapy especially targeted phototherapy is extremely effective n safe.
Discuss with your doctor.
Will clarify any further doubts if any.
take care.

Hi,
I just enrolled to this thinking its a online Chat Consultation with the doctor but this appears to be not.
Nevertheless, Now i would like to know, If this is treated, Does it Stop Spreading to other places and i can consider the affected areas are the only areas that the pigmentation is gone. and...once treated are there chances of the issue to reoccur..I'm not getting a appointment to the right doctor for the next one month. So I need your inputs on what i can do myself.. Do you suggest medication based on seeing the photos ?
what are the diet to be followed. I eat egg white daily , is that ok ? what other diet should be followed. and how about exposure to sunlight, is it good or bad?
I started to get a sligt burning sensation on my hands, not itching.. Same with few parts of my face as well.. Is this an indication of spreading ?

Dear XXXXXXX ,
Thanks for your query,
You can send me close up photographs of the skin lesions. This will help in confirmation of diagnosis.
Vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune condition with relapses and recurrences. The disease takes variable course in different patients.
With treatment your skin can become normalised. But depigmenatation can reoccur after variable period of time after stopping treatment .
In some patients disease once treated may not reappear at all.
Stress can precipitate the disease.
Exposure to sunlight is good.
Expose lesions to sun 5 min everyday between 9 to 11 am.
Take nutritious diet. Eggs are ok.Multivitamin supplements can help.
Avoid sour foods ,vit c, citrous fruits, tamarind ,meat etc.
Burning sensation you are experiencing is different issue and can be due to other causes.
Vitiligo is totally asymptomatic condition. Its just dissapparance of melanin producing cells in the skin.
Hope i have answered your queries.
Take care.

On the Stomach - This was around 1.5 years back
On the Neck - This is from 3-4 months
Around the eye - last 2 months, this is not fully white but i can feel the color change.
My age is 27, I had grey hairs from 1st pu onwards, i was not worried about it as it was common these days. Now i have some 6-7 grey hairs on the beard.. This is again from past 3-4 months.
Please let me know if any picture is not clear, I will resend.
A doctor friend has advised the following creams. Please advise if it is fine. Also Please suggest medicines to stop spreading if any.
Flucort H Cream - body
Topgraf 0.1% - Face
Tacroz Forte - Face

Sukesh

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for sending the photos.
I received your photos and went through it.
It looks like vitiligo and your doctor friend has advised you rightly.
Only thing is that both Topgraf and Tacroz forte contain same drug which is tacrolimus, you can use either of them. Apply it during night time
Apply Flucort H cream during day time on affected area on body.
This will treat the affected area as well as stop the spread. The treatment would require 1 to 3 months to show any improvement. Don't interrupt the treatment for any reason.
Have sun exposure once daily in morning between 9-11 AM.
Meanwhile if lesions keep appearing on newer areas then you may need oral steroids or immunosuppressants.
Hope this answers your query.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
