Brief Answer:
Finasteride does not have any permanent negative sexual effects

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Finasteride is the only approved oral drug for male pattern hair loss. It is safe and effective and has no side effects. A not so uncommon concern of many patients regarding its negative effects on sexual drive requires just reassurance and subsides on continued treatment even though only 1-2% of patient actually experience those side effects. Response to repeated assurance underlies the psychological nature of those side effects rather than due to the drug itself.
