Suffering From Fever And Body Pain And Cold
Question: Suffering from fever and body pain harassment and cold
From last 4 days
Brief Answer:
Most likely a viral infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Your symptoms, especially if by cold you mean upper respiratory infection symptoms such as cough and nasal congestion/drainage, sound consistent with a viral infection. These types of infections cannot be treated with antibiotics, and since we usually cannot treat the specific virus, we just treat the symptoms it causes until your body clears the infection itself. For fever and body aches you can take acetaminophen or ibuprofen. For nasal symptoms you could take an antihistamine/decongestant combination such as loratadine and pseudoephedrine, and for cough you can use honey (mixed in with warm water or tea) or a medication with dextromethorphan. Usually the worst days are usually days 2-3, but can often be up to day 5, after which it the fever should stop and the symptoms gradually improve over the next week or two.
I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
Thanks.
