Suffering From Hair Fall. Using Tresemme Hair Fall Shampoo With Tresemme Conditioner. Using Loreal Hair Spa Cream. Cause?
Hair loss can be worrying and scary
There are some common causes. These include:
(1) low level of thyroid hormone- this can be checked by a blood test
(2) sometimes be due to low iron. This can also be checked by a blood test and corrected with iron replacement
(3) alopecia areata- this is an autoimmune condition where the body attacks the hair follicles, It is treated with steroids
(4) polycystic ovarian syndrome. this is diagnosed in women with irregular periods, cysts on the ovaries and signs and symptoms of increased level of some hormones. It can cause facial hair and loss of hair on the scalp. Diagnosed by history, examination , ultrasound and blood tests
(5) telegen effluvium- this occurs after pregnancy, major surgery, major stress in ones life or a side effect of medication. It is because the hair goes from growing to resting to shedding quickly
If due to medications these can be stopped
If related to stress, relaxation and stress reduction will help
If due to major surgery or pregnancy it will improve in time
(6)hereditary hair loss- sometimes hair loss runs in families. The dermatologist would look at the pattern of hair loss to see if it seems to be this
(7) autoimmune conditions such as lupus can sometimes cause this
You would need to see your doctor for an assessment which would include examination and blood tests to see the exact cause
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
Thanks for your reply.
I am not aware if i am suffering from any of the above cause but i will get my blood test checked.
I want to know that the change in shampoo can also be the cause of hair fall and is there any home remedies or diet which i can follow to stop hair fall without taking any medicines.
I have read that rinsing your hair with XXXXXXX cider vinegar and applying sage tea on it can be helpful . Can you tell if its really helpful.
Thanks
It is thought that green tea, sage, black tea or XXXXXXX cider vinegar can be helpful in hair retention and growth. Castor oil is also normally used.
If however it is related to abnormal levels of thyroid hormone , anemia or any medical condition these would have to be corrected as well.
Some shampoos contain alot of unhealthy sulphates that dry the hair and cause it to break or fall out. There are some sulphate free shampoos available that are better.
In terms of diet, there are no specific dietary recommendations, it is just recommended to drink enough water and use a general healthy diet.A vitamin supplement that contains folic acid, vitamin E and c may sometimes help

In the brain there is an area called the pituitary that releases TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone).
TSH then causes the thyroid gland which is in the neck to release thyroid hormone.
When the thyroid hormone levels are high it stops the brain from making more TSH , when the thyroid hormone levels are low- there is an increase in TSH
Your TSH levels are high which means that the level of thyroid hormone is likely low. Low levels of thyroid hormone can cause hair loss, so this could be the cause of the problem.
This may mean that you have hypothyroidism - this is low levels of thyroid hormone.
Your doctor may follow up this blood test by actually checking the levels of the thyroid hormone
