Suggest A Diet Chart To Keep Diabetes Under Control
Report has been enclosed have a look and along with blood sugar HbA1C previously it was 9.7% FBS >140 In prescription medicines are mentioned along with HBA1C
and FBS, Please have a look and suggest along with diet chart
Thanks
Prescription ok. Need input on regular diet
Detailed Answer:
I am assuming all the other tests- creatinine urea etc were not done
FBS > 140 could be any value between 141 to 800 (depending on the method)
And the latest FBS would be ideally needed to make a correct suggestion
In any case
Addition of Pioz will be acceptable in addition to Amaryl M2
The rest of the prescription would be acceptable as well
However, I would suggest a lipid profile.
If not needed (if the lipid profile is normal) I would suggest to hold atorvastatin (aztor). The medicine is known to increase blood sugars further.
As for dietary pattern
He should avoid high calorigenic foods like potatoes, rice, nonveg, sugars and refined sugars, juices and sweets, oils and fatty foods.
taking low calory foods like cucumbers and salads would help control his sugars better
If you can tell me his daily diet pattern, a better suggestion can be given. It will tell me his preferred foods. Suggestions can then be given accordingly
Please add the details

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I think you just need to cut down on the rice.
The number of chapatis should not be more than 2
The oils and ghee in the food should be completely avoided.
Papaya is ok, but only 1-2 portions (slices)
Chest infection and fever may be due to uncontrolled diabetes.
any infection can happen more easily if the sugars are not well controlled.
So we should focus on sugars first
Best of luck
