Hi,
Your wife must be having hypothyroidism.
So for weight reduction, thyroid hormone levels should be controlled first.
So please let me know
1. How many miligrams (mgs) of thyroxin she is taking?
2. What was her last thyroid function test report?
For weight reduction in any disease, only diet is not sufficient.
You need to do regular exercise along with diet to achieve desired weight.
Her desired weight should be 56-57 kgs.
Tell her to follow these.
1. Take heavy breakfast with milk (low fat) with cereals. (250-300ml milk).
2. In lunch she can have 2 chapatis (without ghee), routine vegetables (less oil), pulses (dal).
No rice in lunch.
3. In the evening she can take one fruit (orange or apple) and sprouted beans.
4. In dinner, try to eat only one preparation. Best is oats. 150-200 mgs oats will be fine.
Strict NO to ice cream, cold drinks, sweets, junk food, cheese, butter etc.
Change your oil to Sun flower oil.
Along with these diet
1. Early morning Yoga and light cardio exercise like walking, jogging should be started. Duration should be 45 minutes.
2. Post dinner - evening walk is must. Atleast 30-45 minutes.
