Question: My Neurologist just prescribed me Briviact but the pharmacist called me to tell me that they are having problems getting it from the manufacturer. Is there a problem with this medication. Is it no longer available?

Brief Answer:
Check another pharmacy

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern. There is currently no official shortage of this drug or interruption of distribution from the manufacturer. You might want to check with another pharmacy which might have it in stock.
There is no generic brand for Briviact, and buy the generic is illegal. This is e new drug that has been approved as treatment for seizures, so i do not see any reason for it being discontinued.
If indeed there is a temporary shortage, I recommend you talk to your doctor in order to get a prescription for a drug that belongs to the same class of drugs as Briviact (Brivaracetam) such as Levetiracetam.
I hope this helps.
I'd be happy to answer any further questions you might have.
Wishing you good health.
