Suggest Alternate Over The Counter Medication For Lisinopril
Question: Can Lisinipril cause severe leg weakness, imbalance, and hip and knee joint pain to worsen? It appears my moms has gotten much worse since starting that med in August 2016 Had never been on any BP meds before.Ok....I am wondering if there is a better and lower dose BP med she could take instead...?
Her BP isn't crazy high...its variable and bounces all over the place but the hi seems to be like 150/90 and low 100/65

Brief Answer:
Switch over to amlodipine.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
As per you query no most likely all the above mentioned symptoms are not a side effect of Lisinopril. However every body is different from other.Hence there are possibilities that your mother is experiencing some very rare problems associated with lisinopril.
Suggestion-
Ask your cardiologist to shift her on Amlodipine. It is a calcium channel blocker and usually well tolerated by elderly patients. Control over fluctuating Blood pressure is also better by amlodipine as compared to Lisinopril.
