Thank You Dr. Parinam for your response. However, I use Optumrx for my Insurance Provider, & they have provided 4 alternative medicines. Abilify; Teodon; Invega; Prisperdal. Lurasidone is the genaric.
Your program has furnished a list of those WHO SHOULD NOT TAKE LATUDA. THERE ARE TOO MANY THAT I GUESS "MY PSYCHIATRIST" IS NOT AWARE THAT I HAVE! NOT TO MENTION IT WOULD COST $489.00 FOR 1 MONTHS SUPPLY. THAT IS 13.6% OF MY MONTHLY INCOME; $16.30/PILL.
HE'S NUTS! Maybe, Hopefully the Psychologist, who works with him can teach him some common sense today ! Q.E.D.
Drug commercials expound on their fantastic claims for your conditions; then mention some many serious reactions possible; & finish with "See your doctor & see if latuda, for example, is "right" for you.
Now here's a doctor, who goes & gets a 30 day supply of latuda; & hands it to your Daughter & tells her to give him 1 pill after dinner; bring him back in 3 weeks to see if it's doing him any good.
I told him I would be just fine once I walked out of "his office".
What would you say to him?

Brief Answer:
Not holistic approach
Detailed Answer:
In my opinion when you treat a person it should always be holistic taking into account the affordability of the person. If you rub on expensive drug to a person who cannot afford it or take fair part of the monthly income to buy it, it is likely to impair his other abilities. It is stressful and it does not act as a medicine but can deteriorate his financial health.
If there are cheaper alternatives they are to be prescribed. I am sure something else will fit the XXXXXXX for such person.
These is my personal approach to any person who walks into my office. Opinions vary.
