Calcineurin inhibitors like tacrolimus and pimecrolimus

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.

Apart from emollients/ moisturisers, steroid sparing agents like calcineurin inhibitors e.g tacrolimus ointment and pimecrolimus cream are commonly used for atopic dermatitis with good effect.

Brief Answer:
Calcineurin inhibitors are prescription products

Hi.

Calcineurin inhibitors are prescription products. Usage depends on the clinical condition and response to treatment. They can be used ling term unlike steroid cream because they are steroid free. Natural remedies are not approved for treatment of atopic dermatitis

Brief Answer:
A sedating antihistamine at night and a non-sedating one during the day

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

A sedating antihistamine e.g hydroxizine hydrochloride 10mg can be given once daily at night and a non-sedating antihistamine e.g cetrizine 5mg once during the day. These are prescription medications and I suggest that you use them under supervision of either a dermatologist or a pediatrician

Brief Answer:
It is fine to use a humidifier

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Yes. It is absolutely fine to use a humidifier. In fact it would help her with dry skin by rehydrating and reducing water loss from skin apart from helping her dry nose.
