Question: My tsh levels from my blood work was 104.1! I have been taking levothyroxine 150mcg for 6 months! I started at 25 MCG and have worked my way up to what I am taking now! I have my blood work drawn every 6 weeks! No change at all in my tsh levels ! Although it has stopped my hair from falling out but other than that no change! Is there another med I can take to get my levels regular?

Brief Answer:
TSH receptor mutation is very probable;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I can understand your concern.
Your case sounds interesting. The fact that the clinical symptoms are improved means that Ft4 and ft3 should get improved.
-First you have to be sure that you take levothyroxine correctly and are not taking other medications that affect it's absorption .
-Secondly check FT4 and Ft3.
-Third, your physician should think about TSH receptor mutation that cause loss of function.
You have to follow these steps with your treating physician.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
