Brief Answer:
Diet , excercise..

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear ! I have gone through your question and I understand your concern.

Here are some treatments/medications for high cholesterol level except statins;

- -- Diet is very important
reduce fatty food , especially from the animals ,instead consume lots of fruits , vegetables, whole grain food , nuts ,seeds , beans .

-When you want to consume cheese or yogurt, chose the ones with low fat.
-Use olive oil ( it's good to increase levels of what we say "good cholesterol "(HDL) .
-Consume Omega 3 fatty acid rich foods (eat fish at least once or twice a week)

-Avoid fast food .
-reduce alcohol if you drink.

The best diet is the vegetarian diet but is hard to follow .

- Excercise
Do a lot of exercises at least 30 min walk every day.

--Other medications except statins ( I have to say that statins are the first choice to treat high cholesterol level )
-Ezetimibe
-Bile acid -binding resins:cholestyramine,
-PCSK9 inhibitors :alirocumab ,,evolocumab
-Vitamin : Niacin .

--@ Herbs and dietary supplements
red yeast rice ( contains statins ).
guggulipid
policonasol
artichoke leaf extract, fenugreek , Arjuna.

When we cure a diet , we see the cholesterol level , any heart problems. If the cholesterol, in a patient without any heart problems, doesn't go back to normal with lifestyle changes , we start the medications.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further questions, I'll be happy to help you.
