Suggest An Alternative Medication For HP Kit Taken For H.pylori Infection
Question: Burning sensation persists even after 7days HP kit treatment for H pylori infection
I am 36 years, diagnosed(endoscopy) minor H Pylori infected. Took 10days HP kit treatment. But even after the treatment I am still suffering from sever burning sensation, acid reflex(cough with colorless sore phlegm). It all started as mint feeling inside stomach, then burning sensation on bottom portion on chest rib ( both sides ) sometimes burning sensation while passing motion(stool). I am suffering from last two months ( started on 1st XXXXXXX 2016)

I can understand your concerns
You have severe GERD and acid peptic disease
To my patients with refractory GERD I prefer a combination which I found very useful.
I will suggest you to take Ilaprazole along with a prokinetic agent levosulpiride.
It comes by the name of Iladac-L od before breakfast. Also take tablet Famotidine 40mg od (Brand name Tab Topcid) od after dinner
Moreover some lifestyle modifications are also required which are:
1.To avoid tea, coffee, oily and spicy food.
2.Also avoid citrus fruits.
3.Among medications take a proton pump inhibitor like rabeprazole and a prokinetic agent like domperidone.
4.Don't lie down at least for 2 hrs after any meal and
5. Don't drink water for at least 2 hrs with any meal.
