Suggest An Alternative Medicine For Cetrizine Taken For Allergy
Question: I have been prescribed Certirizine HCL. tablets to reducea rash on my torso and arms.
It seems only to have increased the itch and has caused very itchy welts to form on my torso, arms and crotch
I was also prescribed doxycycline at the same time, to be taken with food in the evening. I have taken only one of these last evening, and it was this morning that I awoke with a much more serious itch
I have also been taking sertraline HCL tablets for some time without side effects. I am 85 yrs of age and living in a retirement village Serviced apartment for 6 days less than a year.
I hope you can help me before I go completely around the bend with this itch.

This is the first time I have had rashes as extensive or severe as this,
The only other allergy I have had - and this some 30 years ago, but I haven't tried since - is to penicillin.
I was diagnosed as having hypothyroidism some twenty years ago, but this is controlled by daily treatment with thyroxin and my cholesterol levels are now excellent.
