There two other drugs which are more effective than omeprazole. Tab Esomeprazole 40 and Ilaprazole 20, both are long acting drugs and can be used once a day before food.

However I suggest the following lifestyle changes as well

1. Do not sleep immediately after dinner, wait for 2 hours atleast
2. keep two pillows instead of 1, under your head, this prevents reflux
3. avoid milk and milk products
4. Avoid smoking and alcohol
5. Avoid spicy food
. Eat at regular intervals and do not skip meals

Thanks for getting back. It is true that when proton pump inhibitors are taken along with plavix it reduces the efficacy of plavix theoretically however we routinely prescribe it with no significant adverse events. I usually prescribe plavix in the morning and proton pump inhibitor at night

Your only other alternative would be lifestyle modification and h2 blockers, tab ranitidine once in the morning , if heart burn persists then once again at night before food
