Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.
Your main issue if hyperacidity and Gastroesophageal Reflux disease that has got many reasons like:-
H.Pylori bacterial infection.
Food induced.
Loose lower esophageal sphincter causing regurgitation of acid up into the esophagus.
some other defects like hiatal hernia in which a little upper portion of the stomach comes up into the chest causing the same issues.
Your Concerns:-
Yes, Zegerid causes spasms and muscle pains and may also be involved in joint pains. Arm pains like you have may also be due to some autoimmune process causing inflammation of the joint space or any of the structures of the rotator cuff of the shoulder joint. Give rest to the shoulder Joint by using a sling support for shoulder.
Apply Voltaren get on the painful areas and massage gently. Apply Therma Care Heat wraps on the shoulder joint and neck to get soothing relief.
There is no Antidote for Zegerid, neither is it used for. Only thing we do is to treat the symptoms and if clearly due to the specific drug, we may hold that drug or give an alternative. Nexium is almost the same as Zegerid but you should take thag for acidity until you get an appointment and Dexilant prescription from your Gastroentrologist.
Investigations needed:-
Upper GI-Endoscopy.
H.pylori test.
Precautions:-
Avoid alcohol, cigarette or any other addictive illicit drug use.
Take plenty of water, vegetables and salads, fruits and whole grain diet.
Avoid processed meat and refined floor.
Avoid fried, fast and junk foods
No caffeinated drinks, energy drinks, beverages etc.
Management:-
Start taking Citrucel dietary fiber supplement with plenty of water.
If positive for h.pylori your Gastroentrologist may prescribe you with Triple antibiotic regimen to cure the infevtion.
Dexilant, a more potent acid reducer will also be needed for treating you and having a low adverse effect profile. Ask your physician for a prescription of the same.
If there will be any anatomical pathology, your Gastroentrologist may help you for that after the endoscopy.
Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions, feel free to contact me anytime. Always write my name in start of your question in future, and I will get back to you in no time. If satisfied, please give your generous 'five Star rating' and don't forget to 'Close the discussion'.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards!
