Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and before suggesting medicine for bullous phemphigoid do let me know regarding:

1. What is the duration of taking said medicines for phemphigoid and diabetes, since:
. Prednisone increase blood sugar level apart from other noticeable features like hypertension, hypothyroidism, peptic ulcer, not to be applied over broken or infected skin ( avoid topical use) thus there will be increased requirement of oral hypoglycaemics ( metformin) so in best interest consult with your attending physiciab regarding these possibilities.

. With Dapsone one has to look with dose related side effects like anemia, peripheral neuropathy, (common in diabetic), hemolysis thus perform regular blood counts and monitor liver function test regularly.

. With metformin one has to monitor renal functions regularly thus prior to start Ayurveda management do let me know whether these possibilities have been excluded or any test done to know how her body is responding to above mentioned drugs.

My mother has been taking Prednisone from about XXXXXXX 6th to current. Medication is being titrated she is now on 10mg once a day. We are expecting the doctor to discontinue prednisone by end of September given there will be no new skin flare ups.

I am not sure how long she will be on Dapsone?
After reading your comment I am not worried about Metformin because if prednisone is discontinued that I can expect Metformin to be discontinued.

Is there any ayurvedic treatment to control this disease Bullous Pemphigoid.

Please advice,
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Ayurveda management

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

1. Since Phemphigus is caused due to disturbed immunity which means immunity is strong but lacks coordination and organization which groups it under auto immune disorder thus Ayurveda management mainly focus on Immunomodulation (Rasayan Chikitsa) Treatment.

PS. Diabetes is one cause of disturbed immunity.

2. In Ayurveda I usually manage my patient(s) on the line of 'agni visarpa' or 'visphota' and prescribe following drugs:

. Mouktika XXXXXXX kamadudha ras in tapering dose
. Sareevadya Assav: thrice daily
. If condition is recurring then above treatment is given for 3-6 months along with in addition of Immunomodulators like: suvarn XXXXXXX XXXXXXX ras and guduchi satva

3. Avoid: fried, spicy and non veg food and milk, rice, ganji, sprouted cereals, vegetables can be taken keeping in view diabetic diet.
