i. Presently with Drugs your fasting blood sugar is 130-140 [whereas it should be less than 110 mg/dl] which means still your blood sugar level is high. [still diabetic]
ii. Presently with Drugs your PP is 110-120 [whereas for Normal it should be less than 140 mg/dl] which means your Post prandial sugar is Normal with drugs.
iii. Since
Diabetes is a multi-factor disease and it can affect many areas of the body, it is good that apart from
high cholesterol, nothing serious damage is done, make sure for regular follow up and examination.
iv. Because sensory loss is prominent in people with diabetes, you are more vulnerable to foot problems, because diabetes can damage the nerves and reduce blood flow to the feet, thus any
injury of the foot, will get unnoticed and will result in
diabetic foot which may lead to
amputation of a foot or leg.
##. Take:
Cereals: barley, special variety of grains [sanvaka, kodrava], wheat.
Pulses: green gram, kulattha, pigeon pea, alasi, chickpea.
Fruits & vegetables: patola, karela, amalaki, haridra, kapittha, black pepper
Others: betel nut, rock salt.
Life style: walking, playing, physical exercise, bathing.
a. have 'vijaysar' [विजयसार] plant water to drink.
b. have roti of chick pea [चना], with 20 ml bitter gourd [करेला] juice
c. chewing leaves of bael [बिल्व पत्र] with black pepper is good.
##. Avoid:
Cereals: freshly harvested grains, rice.
Pulses: black gram.
Fruits & Vegetables: as described earlier
Others: milk, curd, clarified butter, jaggery, oil, alcohol, sugarcane products, eating before digestion of previous food, incompatible food.
Lifestyle: day sleeping, sudation [swedan],
smoking, suppression of natural urges, therapeutic blood letting, riding.
