Ayurveda and Palpitations
Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and going by your history of Irregular heart beat and palpitation it can be assumed that there is something related with heart [ most important PVC's] and in Ayurveda we hold Aggravated Vata to be a causative factor behind it.
1. going by the answers given by other Cardiologist since your Holter and Echo came out Normal thus you should follow the advice given by them regarding any stoppage or discontinuation of medicine.
2. Since there is absence of any structural heart disease thus you should look out for other causes of above said symptoms, noticeably:
. Anxiety, undue mental stress, any caffeine/nicotine intake, flatulence, intake of spices in diet [and/or overeating], and do exclude any abnormal blood sugar and Thyroid level.
PS. Since you are suffering from Asthma thus medication used for the same can cause palpitation [particularly inhalers]
3. Stay Hydrated, and take magnesium rich diet [nuts, almonds, cashews, pumpkin, water melon], coconut water, saffron, ginger, lemon, pomegranate, turmeric, Avoid Stimulants like coffee, smoking, alcohol.
. Practice relaxation techniques like: yoga, deep breathing exercise [if stress is the cause]
. Eat ripe guava, empty stomach [every morning]
4. If the symptoms are more of psychological origin then you can continue with:
i. Tablet Abana [himalaya]: 1 tablet twice daily
PS.
a. Abana reduces the sensitivity of the heart to adrenergic stimulation and improves contractility of heart and thus produces cardio protection.
b. It is advisable to take Abana under medical supervision, if the pre existing medical condition(s) are long standing and refractory to other modern medications. OR
ii. Tablet Arjain [Alarsin] or Capsule Arjunin [Charak]: 2-3 tablets four times daily. OR
iii. Carditone Capsule [Ayush]: 1 capsule twice a day [preferred by me for my patients] AND
iv. Take tablet Mentat [himalaya]: 2 tablet with lukewarm water at bed time.
