Question: Dear sir ( s ),
I am a 71 year old starting chemtherapy with lenalidomide/dexamethasone
for multiple myeloma/
amyloidosis derved from very complex karyotype
plasma cells. I have been refractory to 6 cycles of borte/dexam/cyclopho
bortezomib 1.3 mg/m2 intravenously days 1,4,8,11
dexamethasone 40 mg days 1,4,8,11 orally
cyclophosphamide days 1,8,15 orally
baseline IgGL 31g/L, lambda light chain 153 mg/L
post cycle 6 IgGL 25g/L lambda LC 150
IVSd has increase from 1.1 (10 months earlier), to1.2 (5 months ago)
to 1.4 cm 1 month ago, the EF remains at 56% the
creatinine is 75 m.mol/L
24 hour urine proteine level of 0.4g/d and lambda BJ at 0.09 g/d
not yet clinical development of neuropathy.
Having no apparent way out I would like to increase the chemotherapeutic
effect with less experimented supplements. Here is a list:
Oldenlandia diffusa extract 10:, scutellaria barbata extract 10:1
ganoderma lucidum, gymnostema, nigella sativa, cordiceps, fish oil,
curcumin, N-acetyl cysteine, try methil glicine, selenocysteine, resveratrol, bromelain, XXXXXXX fraction picnogenol,
ubiquinol, vitamin C
organic zinc and
magnesium,
alpha lipoic acid, cinnamon, ellagic acid,
cranberry extract.
My question is: which ones helps or which ones damages?
I am mostly vegetarian, non smoker, 1 glas of wine a day.
Are there other substances ayurvedic or not that might help?
I am taking this step because according to official sperimented medicinals
so far there is no drug that helps solving amyloidosis.
I am villing to take risks since I have very little to lose.
Very warm regards
