Brief Answer:
May be neurological.

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you for writing to HCM.

Your symptoms of dizziness or unsteadiness, especially the feeling of falling towards one side is suggestive of something neurological. The inability to pronounce certain words instantly is also indicative of that.

In my opinion, I would recommend a complete workup for dizziness which includes a neurological evaluation along with an MRI and an ENT evaluation which includes ear examination and tests for vertigo. Based on the evaluation, specific treatment can be initiated.

At the moment, with these symptoms, I would not recommend waiting and trying to see if it resolves on its own. It may if this is due to a viral inner ear disease like a labrynthitis or a vestibulitis, but with your symptoms it seems unlikely that this is due to an inner ear cause.

Please do have this evaluated at the earliest. Most medical illnesses occur for the first time so it is alright if this hasn't occurred before.

Hope this information was helpful. Do let me know if you have any other questions.

Sir
what are the possibilities of having a brain tumor. I am scared to visit a neurologist. There is no previous history of any form of cancer in my family.

Brief Answer:
possibility of tumour unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you for writing back.

Your symptoms do not suggest the possibility of a brain tumour. The MRI or a neurological assessment is to evaluate your balance system or the cerebellum. It may be something vascular or inflamed if an infection.

Other clinical tests such as rhomberg and unterbergers test are to see if your balance system is working well

ENT evaluation will rule out other local causes.

There are simply too many causes for dizziness and if it is associated with feeling of falling down with problems in speech, it definitely indicates an evaluation.

Do not worry. Many times an early evaluation prevents long term anxiety and unnecessary medications.

Hope this helps.
