Suggest Correct Neurobion Forte Injection Dosage For Treating Pernicious Anemia

Question: Hi,

i was diagnosed with pernicous aneamia before 7 years in CMC, Vellore.

Doctors have explained me that my body is unable to absorb B12 from food.

They have prescribed Neurobion Forte Injection once in a day for a week, and once in week for 6 weeks and once in a month for lifetime.

Last year i had visited a doctor in XXXXXXX Hrudalaya and explained the same, he advised me to take the injection once in every 6 months. I am bit confused about different suggestions.

Could you suggest the correct dose and medicine.

Hello dear. I have gone through youe problem. So we follow standard protocol of inj once daaily for 5 to 7 days, then once a week for 6 to 8 week then monthly. Please go with vellore protocol.

Thanks for your response..

I have taken only one injection in past 6 months as suggested by XXXXXXX hrudalaya doctor..

I've been getting lot of sleep in afternoons these days and also I am getting tired after walking for short distances.

Is it advisable to get the b12 test done? Or can I take injections normally once in a month from now.

Please advise

I am also gaining weight from past three weeks irrespective of my diet..

Hello. Get hemoglobin checked

Hello dear. Get your hemoglobin checked. You can check b12 levels also. B12 is a water soluble vitamin and excess of it wont harm you. Also, it has no relation with weight gain.
