Suggest Diet And Exercise That Is Most Effective For Weight Loss
Can't point you to specific food, it's overall diet and excercise that work
Detailed Answer:
Hey there, thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic. I am glad you want to control your weight. It's actually a very simple process to follow in theory.. but certainly difficult in practice.
I wish there were some special foods and exercises that I could tell you that worked better than others, unfortunately, that's not really how the human body works.
ANY exercise and diet regime that you start on will work great at first... then lead to something called a "Plateau". In a plateau, your metabolism and your muscles get used to the changes you've made, find shortcuts to lower energy use and eventually bring you back to the weight you started at. That's why most specialized diet fads fail.
Sustained weight loss is all about overcoming the plateau. Lets talk about how to do that.
A good, well balanced, low calorie diet is your first step. I generally recommend that you try and keep your carbohydrate (sugars) intake around 30% of your total calories. Fat intake would be another 30% and the other 40% would come from high quality proteins. When you exercise regularly, a high protein diet is essential to help muscle development. The more lean muscle you develop, the more calories you burn.. even when you are NOT exercising.
Now to exercise. A combination of Cardio exercise and focused muscle building is important. In general, at first, I recommend that you should concentrate on Cardio at first.
Join a good gym or seek the help of a physical therapist and you will have the help you need to make an exercise plan that you can stick to. No matter what plan of exercises you develop.. you will need to switch them up and use different muscle groups every 6-8 weeks to prevent your muscles from getting used to the exercise and eventually hitting that dreaded Plateau.
I don't want to tell you there is any ONE exercise works better than others. It's not really true. The key is to make a schedule that you can STICK to in the long run. If walking is something you can do regularly, then walk, if it's skipping (jumprope) then skip all round town as much as you can. The more you can integrate your exercise routine INTO your life, the easier it will be to lose weight and ore importantly KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF.
Now if these things are not helping you lose weight after 3-4 months of really trying.. Then we need to get some blood tests done to check your thyroid and other hormone levels. Hypothyroidism and some other hormonal issues can make it very difficult to lose weight and you may need to treat such issues first before you can effectively lose weight.
So, I Hope this helps. Lemme know what you are thinking and where I can try and clarify things further.
