Suggest Diet For Kidney Stones

Question: I have had 2 kidneys at once few years ago. Am i at risk for another and how long do they take to form, high protein diet from working out as well a concern?
Hi. I think you are talking about 2 kidney stones.
Yes, you are always at a risk of developing more.
They may develop only if you do not take plenty of water and oral fluids. This is the most important single factor to help not to develop further stones.
There are no specific diets that decide this.

Yes, kidney stones. So besides drinking a lot of water there aren't any other concerns that may cause my stones to come back?
Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection and obstruction
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Taking plenty of water orally dilutes the urine so much that it does not allow formation of stones / or have another layer on the pre-existing stones. You should take water in large quantities at one go ( whatever is comfortable) so that the excretion by kidneys has a force to have the effect I explained.
Besides water:
If there is urinary tract infection , it should be well treated to the extent of cure. There must not be any mechanical obstruction to the urine outflow from the kidneys upto the urethral opening ( here is the need of IVP= Intravenous pyelography).
Avoid dehydration at any cost.

Thank you for the help. I believe i may have passed a stone and am still in pain. Should i get checked out at an ER or wait and the pain should go away?
Brief Answer:
Pain= may be impacted / passing down stone
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If you still have pain , this indicates you still have a stone impacted.
Yes, please get checked out at ER. You may get medicines / injections for pain and antispasmodic medicines help to pass out the stone/s by dilatation of the tract. And with the help of forceful diuresis by means of IV fluids the small stones usually pass out in urinary bladder. Any stone which has passed into bladder usually gets out of urethra as urethra has larger dimension.
