Question: Hello,Sir, I had been suffering from slight diabetis and also from high blood pressure.Although I have checked both of them. Now the problem is that I am having muscle ache along with joint pains in both the arms.Perhaps due to low protein supply, for I am a pure vegeterian.Could you suggest me what diet should I follow mainly and how would it be if I take Amway nutrilite protein powder.

Brief Answer:
vitamin D calcium and magnesium deficiency.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The joint and muscle ache at your age can be due to vitamin D calcium and magnesium deficiency. medicines like cholesterol lowering drugs can also cause such a pain. Excessive exercise can also contribute to your problem.
Blood investigation for serum vitamin D, calcium, phosphorus uric acid and alkaline phosphotase are recommended.
I suggest you to consult an endocrinologist and get prescribed vitamin D and magnesium supplements. Your symptoms should improve with that. Also eat magnesium rich foods like bananas, beans, chickpeas, fish, nuts, soybeans, spinach etc which are natural sources of magnesium.
Regarding vitamin D levels, you need to take a XXXXXXX of vitamin D with milk or curd once a week for 8 weeks and then once a month. Each XXXXXXX contains 60,000 IU of vitamin D. But these should be taken only after getting your vitamin D levels checked.

Taking protein powder that you mentioned will not help you much. You can increase the amount of pulses and milk based products in your meals instead.
I hope this answers your query.

Online prescriptions are not allowed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
magnesium is present in most of the multi vitamin and multimineral supplements. You can take one such supplement and have foods rich in magnesium.
Online prescriptions are not allowed. It is best to consult your physician and get your serum levels evaluated before starting these supplements.
