
Suggest Diet To Be Followed When Suffering From Jaundice

My niece is 8 years old and she has been diagnosed with jaundice and her ratings are as below
s bilirubin total 3.4
direct 0.6
indirect 2.8
sgpt 65
could you please suggest the diet to be followed during jaundice,also please give some suggestions and precautions?Can she consume milk,dal and ORS-L?

As far the description you have provided the child is suffering from viral hepatitis most probably Hepatitis A. This can be confirmed by doing anti - Hep A antigen in blood.
For follow up an INR ( a blood test) must be done, as jaundice patients can have bleeding tendencies.
As per medicine- no medocine has any role in jaundice. Take rest and diet rich in carbohydrate like rice wheat etc. Can take any food but should avoid too much spice or too much of non vegetarian food. A regular family diet is good enough.
