I am having kumkumapoo in milk daily twice. Can you get breif me the benefits of having it? Is, eating corn(baked at home, bought raw from super market) healthy at this stage?

Brief Answer: Request for details Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX, Thanks for posting the query. I would advise you to take the almonds after soaking them for 8 -10 hours in plain water. You may also take 1 walnut everyday, again after soaking it overnight. Figs are great during pregnancy, not only will they provide the fiber but these are packed with minerals like zinc, calcium and iron. These will also help you with an improved digestion, and morning sickness. Similarly, corn may also be consumed, and the best way to eat them is what you are already following, i.e. baked corns. Foods that you really need to avoid at this stage are the ones that are too spicy or oily. At the same time taking foods that have preservatives and additives should be strictly avoided. I would recommend you to carefully manage the intake of even the common foods like ketch up and other canned/packed foods. Add plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and divide your meals into smaller but frequent portions, and don't forget to take water and other friendly drinks like buttermilk, fresh home made juices, coconut water and soups. Proteins are very important, be regular with pulses, milk, curd and legumes. if you take non veg, then egg white and lean meats are very good. You have also asked about kumkumapoo, I have a little confusion about this, Is this Saffron? If not, then please tell me its common English name, so that i can help you wit this part of the query. Waiting for your reply. Take care Meenakshi

Brief Answer: A high protein well balanced diet suggested Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX, Greetings for the day. You may continue taking saffron milk, but make sure that the intake is limited to once a day and you use only 3-4 strands of the herb. By nature saffron produces heat, and if taken in large doses it may not be as good. Another very important thing about it is that while taking it, you have be sure that its pure. Thus, always buy it from a reputed store and always look for the one with a food grade mark on the label. The health benefits of Saffron are many, it not only improves digestion but also cleanses the blood, improves immunity and fights skin problems, heart burn and sleep disorders. I would suggest that you maintain the meal timings and include as much variety in your food as possible. Ranging from fruits to vegetables, from cereals to pulses etc. But the most important one is sufficient protein take. So add milk, curd, custard, mushroom, pulses etc in the diet. Avoid packed or preserved food. and most importantly maintain a good balance between sleep, meals and light walk. Hope this helps. Meenakshi
