Suggest Dietary Plans When On Rabipur Injections Post Surgery
Question: Hello Doctor,
My brother was attacked by our own Pet dog(a 1.5yr old Doberman). It bite him first in his hand breaking his thumb and then went on to bite him in 5 other places; both his biceps, right inner thigh, lower right chest, mid left back.
Immediately took him to the Emergency room at 9:00pm, where he was given a Rabies Injection, and some other injections. The next day, he was taken to the Operation theatre, where he was given the Equirab injection and all the bite areas was scraped and cleaned before operating his hand for the fracture and was given stitches on 4 bite areas including the thumb. He a K wire in his thumb and was given Anti-biotic shots day and night for two days.
Now 12 days later the dog is fine and my brother is also doing better.
Other doctors, seeing the severity of the wound have suggested to take the remaining doses of Rabipur, and is advising everyone in the house to take it as well.
Please advise if the treatment is alright, and if any further treatment is required. Also advise dietary plans. Thanks you.

Brief Answer:
continue rabies vaccination
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
The fact that he is doing well means that he does not have rabies but once the vaccination is started the full dose has to be given without fail or else the immunity will not develop.
There is no need to vaccinate the whole family
I recommend that following diet
1. 3 litres of plain water per day
2. Juices of papaya , orange and apple. Any one per day
3. 3 boiled eggs per day ( only the white part )
4. boiled vegetables along with lunch and dinner
5. avoid spicy food, milk and milk products until he is on antibiotics
I hope I was of help, if you have any further quries please get back to me
Regards
