Suggest Dosage For Dexlansoprazole
Question: I am taking Dexilant for Barretts and am wondering if I need to take it 1/2 to 1 hour before meals like some of the other PPI's or can I take it with the meal and food?

Dexlansoprazole may be taken with or without food, but it may provide more relief from after-meal symptoms if it is taken before a meal. Take dexlansoprazole at around the same time every day.Food ingestion stimulates gastric parietal cell ATPase molecules to secrete acid, allowing PPIs to inhibit acid secretion when they are taken before meals.
1) Take it on empty stomach (make sure you have not eaten or drank except water for 3 hrs before)
2) After taking it wait for 30 min.
3) After 30 min. eat your biggest meal of the day (whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner doesn't matter). Dinner should be the lightest meal though for GERD people.
