Suggest Dosage For Doryx And Tetracycline

Question: I'm 55. been going to gym and on trestosterone injections for about a year now. Last few months back broken out BAD and not going away. Been told Accutane good but reduces Test and makes u tired. Already tired enough. Told also about Doryx And Tetracycline. Need help.

When answer submitted; How much do I take (mg); how many times a day. On empty or full stomache. How long do you project I will need to be on what you prescribe?

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
You can try topical antibacterial agents such as azelaic acid, topical erythromycin, or clindamycin .
Minocycline is useful.Inflammatory Acne-ADULTS: PO 50 mg 1to 3 times daily should be taken with meals -to be stopped once the disease has improved.

Drug & dosage is against policy of HCM,however advice is as per your specific request as forwarded.

Do not want any creams or ointments since I can not reach a majority of my back. The oral supplement; please explain. And is it over the counter.

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Minocycline is an antibiotic.Such antibiotic appears to have anti-inflammatory effects independent of their antibacterial effects.Its dose in inflammatory Acne is low and has already been given to you but it should be taken with foods. It should be continued till acne subsides.It may not be over the counter.

However you have to stop testosterone injections as androgenic steroids may produce acneiform eruptions or aggravate preexisting acne.

One more thing; my blood pressure running between 180/80 and 187/107. Is that real bad? Going to gym helps. Can u recommend something that will help?

suggest grade 2 isolated systolic hypertension

Hi,

You are having grade 2 isolated systolic hypertension(ISH)I.e. systolic BP >160 mm hg and Diastolic BP<90 mm hg. You need to be under drug to control your BP
i.e. systolic BP =/<140 mm hg.
You have to avoid weight exercise as this tend to increase your BP (blood pressure).

Aerobic physical exercise for 20-30 ′ at least 5 days per week is advisable.

Calcium channel blockers/ calcium antagonists (e.g. amlodepine, Nifedepine) are the drug of choice for ISH.
Patients over age 50 may be more responsive to calcium antagonists.
