Suggest Dosage For Gabapentin While Suffering From Shingles Pain

Question: HOW MANY 300 MG gabapentin can I take at once for shingles pain? I have suffered for more than a year and cannot tolerate the pain.
Brief Answer:
Accepted daily maximum of 1800mg.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about your pain. This drug is presecribed as follows:
-Initial dose: 300 mg orally on day one, 300 mg orally 2 times day on day two, then 300 mg orally 3 times a day on day three.
-Titrate up as needed for pain relief
-Maximum dose: 1800 mg per day (600 mg orally 3 times a day)
so, if you are about starting, you should take just 300mg today. Exercise patience as it may take up to a week for first results to be evident.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if you so desire.

Thank you, Dr Ditah, Do you have any idea if Medical Marijuana could help this relentless pain, and how one goes about getting it?
Brief Answer:
There is no medical evidence for neuropathic pain!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
There are no current existing evidence to support the use of medical marijuana for this at this time. I will suggest that you go with this gabapentin at this time. Hopefully, this will be able to control your pain.
I wish you well.
