Detailed Answer:
Hello,
WHat type of insulin do you do in the evening? If it is lantus (long acting insulin), you may do it in the morning.
Do you do other insulins except of that in the evening?
What is you actual blood sugar?
Will be a pleasure to help you further.

Dr.Mirjeta

My blood sugar has fluctuated widely, causing the cancellation of knee replacement surgery until it can be stabilized. This is when I was placed on insulin therapy of 10 mL per day Levemir. My A1C was above 7.5 because they want it to level out at 7.0.
My blood/glucose (finger stick) has been all over the place but twice settled into the mid 9.s for a week's time but both times when I forgot my insulin shot at night it shot way up - this time it was 169. The first time I forgot it, it took my blood/sugar nearly two weeks before it finally dropped back down.
That is why I felt it might be important to get that insulin back into my system sooner rather than later. I have to make an appointment to see my doctor to ask him a question and that takes two weeks to get to see him, obviously too late to help in each situation.
Right now it is 10 a.m. my time. Is that too late to take a make-up injection? My next injection will be at bedtime tonight and I can make that range from 8:30 p.m. until midnight, if that makes a difference. PLEASE answer asap. Thank you.
