Lisinopril should be taken 40 mg once daily for your age
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxx,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.
1. Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor group of anti hypertensive medicine.
2. The recommended maximum daily dose in the elderly population is 40 mg orally in a single dose. Therefore you should be taking a single 40 mg dose once daily at a fixed time.
3. The dose of 80 mg does not offer much advantage over a 40 mg dose and not recommended for the elderly.
Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
