Brief Answer:
there are no known long term effects, some use antihistamines for years

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Loratidine is one of the non drowsy antihistamines available, other options being fexofenadine and cetirizine.

There are some persons who require the use of their anti histamines for years. At the moment, there is no evidence that antihistamines have any adverse effects with long term, regular use.

The slight drop in temperature at night or presence of allergens in your bedroom may cause the stuffy sensation.
Some persons require special pillow cases or mattress covers to help with their symptoms.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
