Suggest Dosage For Metrogyl For Amoebiasis

Question: I think I have amoebiosis and have bought metrogyl tablets . Can you advise how many of these to take and for how long? What other medicine should I take along with these medicines? I have thyroid and take thyronorm 25 mcg every morning, can I take these tablets along with the thyroid meds? Please advice.

After reading your post, I would suggest that you should get your stool examined for confirmation of amoebiasis.
If the reports suggest amoebiasis, you should take Metronidazole 400 mg thrice daily after meals for about 7 days.
You can take this even if you are taking thyroid medicine. Thyroid medicine should be taken empty stomach in the morning., while you have to take Metronidazole after meals.
Please mention your symptoms, so that any further medicine, if needed can be planned accordingly.
