Suggest Dosage For Oxycodone, MS Contin And Soma

get records
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
I do not know why your husband's doctor did not explain to him the danger of these medications. What you need to do now is get a copy of his medical records from the doctor that was prescribing these medications. He should have been warned not to take the medications and drive. He needs to get tapered off of the medications if possible and make sure that he has a clear head if he needs to go to court over this matter. His physician may need to testify about why and how he prescribed the medications. It is very important for you to get a copy of his medical records from this doctor as soon as possible. This is all you can do at this point. Document what you did as far as counting he pills to demonstrate that he was only taking what was prescribed. The medical records should document that he was not informed about the risk and dangers of driving while on these medications.
I wish you the best and let me know if you have further questions.

Doses needed
Detailed Answer:
what were the doses of all the medications he was taking daily?

people do take these doses
Detailed Answer:
Many people with chronic pain do take doses like this of pain medication and sometimes even higher doses. Usually they are started on a lower dose and then tapered up to reach pain control. I do think it was a mistake to tell someone that they could drive while taking these doses of medications. All three medications are very sedating and even if you are used to them this dose of medication would impair your reflexes.

nothing over the counter
Detailed Answer:
There is nothing over the counter that can help with this. You need a doctor to write a prescription for something to help him get off the medication. The most commonly used medication is clonidine but this must be done under strict medical supervision as it can lower blood pressure to a dangerous level. If he does withdraw without assistance, he will suffer greatly but it will not kill him. It is miserable to go through so I suggest that you find him another doctor that is willing to help with this. There is really no over the counter solution for this.
