Suggest Dosage For Thyronorm When TSH Level Indicate 82 Iu/ml
Question: hi doctor,
I was taking tyronorm 87.5 at time of my pregnancy. 6 weeks after delivery doctor asked me to stop the medicine and check TSH after some month to check whether it is increasing or not.Now after 6 mnths of delivery i checked again and TSH is 82.Can i start the same level of thyronorm again?

Welcome to HCM.
I have read your query and reviewed the report.
TSH 82.10 iu/ml is very high which is suggestive of very low thyroid hormones in blood (hypothyrodism) and 87.5 mcg dose will not be sufficient.
You will need to start thyroid tablet (thyronorm 150 mcg in my opinion) once daily on empty stomach to get maximum absorption as food might interfere with its absorption.
So,it is taken after 2 hours of having meal or before 45 minutes of meal. Means it is always best not to eat anything for at least 1 hour after taking thyronorm to get maximum absorption.
Check TSH level again after one month and titrate the dose of thyronorm accordingly as per your physician's opinion and your serum TSH level.
So,I would suggest you to see physician for the appropriate dose and prescription of thyronorm.
